ICH MOTION PICTURE: Excellent ICH Film.
MUSIC: Excellent song for a motion picture.
WRITING: Excellent Screenplay.
STUDENT FILM: Excellent Student feature film.
DEFINITION
WMAs of Excellence shall be conferred on winners in the form of a gold statuette trophy at the awards ceremonies in the following categories:
ACTING:
A performance by an actor or actress in promoting the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in a motion picture, and excellent live performance.
ANIMATED FEATURE FILM:
A narrative or abstract animated film with 80 percent figure of the picture’s running time, and 90 percent of the major characters animated. The motion picture in this category must meet all the requirements for promoting the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. An animated motion picture in this category must “Rated G” (General audience) suitable for all children.
DOCUMENTARY:
A nonfiction motion picture highlighting historical, cultural, social, economic, scientific, and artistic materials while promoting the safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and its elements.
ICH MOTION PICTURE:
A motion picture of merits that contain ICH elements. This category requires live performing arts from one or more cast members. The performance must promote and educate the submitting country’s cultural heritage while introducing one cultural artifact to safeguard.
MUSIC:
An original score explicitly written to inspire and enhance the storyline of the ICH Motion Picture. The music must be 100 percent creative work between the composer(s) and the filmmaker(s) to educate and capture emotions for the ICH Motion Picture.
WRITING:
An adapted screenplay or original screenplay with narratives that promote the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and its elements.
STUDENT FILM:
Exceptional student film promoting and safeguarding the ICH elements.
HONORARY AWARDS:
The honorary awards shall be conferred on individuals who have contributed exceptionally in promoting Cultural Diversity, Socio-Economics Justice, Equality, and Human Rights.
